I started feeling sad again and I almost titled this blog “Why should I care so much.” Nobody else seems to care, not even one of the fitness gurus that I thought so highly about for so many years. Last month he wrote, “We are just supposed to sell the people what they want, the newest fad or gimmick, regardless whether it’s what they need or not.” This just not sit well with me, I can’t do it. I can’t believe fitness professionals still think this way and it seems to get worse with each passing year. Once I realized what was going on in the mid 90’s I had to make some changes in how I operated a health club. I’m not going to bore you with a history lesson again or explain how it came to happen but after having the biggest and also a multi-international award-winning gym in town and working with the franchisor in California to help improve their brand, Wanda and I now own and operate one of the smallest. (KISS) Keep it simple stupid, was what one of my mentors taught me years ago, so we did. We now teach health and fitness for those who want to live longer, more productive and healthier lives.
So why do I care so much? I care because I know that if you aren’t ready for an advanced program you are only going to make things worse in your quest to improve your health and physical condition. You will decrease or completely halt your body’s natural ability to get lean and healthy and could very possibly destroy your metabolism. Please stay healthy my friends…
